PARALIA OFRINIOU, GREECE Endless beach and clean water
Touzla or known by its new name Paralia Ofryniou is a resort village located in the Gulf of Orfano (Struma Bay), in Northern Greece, about 20 km from Asprovalta and 64 km from the town of Kavala. In translation, its name means the Beach of Ofryniou. Near it is the island of Thassos, which can be reached by ferry from Keramoti or Kavala, and from the beach in the distance you can see the westernmost arm of Halkidiki, namely Mount Athos (Holy Mountain) the only autonomous monastic state in the world.
Beaches in Paralia Ofriniou
The small village has an extremely long (17 km) and wide coast line and it becomes quite lively during the summer season. The sea coast is mixed with small pebbles, but extremely well organized with umbrellas and sunbeds. The beach, of course, has a free area, which has enough space and is not so crowded. Ofrinio Beach is famous for its large children’s center, which offers many beach attractions to the delight of the youngest visitors. Not far from the beach is the Church “Transfiguration”, which is also worth a visit.
Not only along the promenade but all around the city you will find many nice places to dine and enjoy Mediterranean cuisine – with huge portions of squid, octopus and fresh fish. Paralia Ofryniou also has several bakeries serving traditional Greek snacks. In the evening, you can have fun in the nightclubs or cocktail bars on the beach.

Sightseeing
An interesting place to visit is Alistrati Cave (about 30 km) – one of the largest caves in Greece, known for its bizarre rock formations (stalactites and stalactons).
